My research intersects the fields of communication, education and technology with a particular emphasis on media literacy. Broadly speaking, I am interested in how media technologies can support communicative and communal experiences among all learners (especially adolescent learners). I also study the growing need for health media literacy among all age groups. I founded and directed the Communication and Media Research Collaboratory (C+MRC) from 2016-2022 at Montclair State University. I am currently exploring the intersection of media ecology and permaculture design to achieve more balanced media ecosystems across all aspects of life.
