In 2015 I am serving as the Program Chair for the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) Conference in Philadelphia. This year, the NAMLE Conference is part of Global Media and Information Literacy Week and brings together some of the best and brightest media literacy scholars, educators, practitioners, activists and artists from across the globe for two energetic days of idea-sharing, brainstorming, and professional development focused on media in the classroom and media literacy. Educator and author Vivian Vasquez is the opening keynote speaker, and there will be more than 30 unique program sessions. An international plenary session will include representatives from UNESCO, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and university educators from Spain, Japan, China, Egypt, Jamaica, Mexico and more to share global media literacy practice and research.
